Travelling To See Nieces, Look For Advice

I am traveling to florida for the weekend in may to see nieces i haven't seen in 4 yrs. I am very excited. I don't have a lot of money but I am looking for suggestions on...

1. What can I wear on the airplane for when I get there so she will see me right off?

2. What if anything should I do for a meal? should I take them out and treat them? There are 3 girls as well as their parents, etc.

Thank you,
Sandy

How about Pizza. Either buy and have delivered or make at their home with purchased pizza crust, hamburger and/or sausage to brown in skillet then use as topping also stick of pepperoni to slice thin, mozzarella cheese( big bag maybe two if necessary) and celery, onions, olives, pineapple etc for toppings. Everyone helps and selects their favorites.

As for your questions:
1. Why not buy a baseball cap at wal mart (often 2.00 or less) in a bright colour? Or if you have any bright yarn about tie it about your wrist?

as for your second question:

When my mom came out a few yrs ago, after my son was born, we ate out morning noon and night. I had a blast until I totalled up what she spent. Over $600! That could have gone to much better uses than plunking our behinds down at some place.

The next time she came out, we ate out ALOT less and concentrated on having fun. And with gas prices as outrageous as they are, don't forget getting there costs more now, too.

Why not offer if they put up $20 (or whatever amount you both can afford) you will match it and go grocery shopping and buy food that'll last more than one meal. BBQ one night, Cold cuts sandwiches the next, Let the girls pick out their favourite food one night each and cook that! Let them help, or if they are old enough, let them cook it with you assisting (what teen doesn't love to tell an adult what to do?) Also, buy paper plates/cups and flatware...MUCH less dishes to do..Who wants to be stuck in kitchen when their Aunty comes to visit?

Also, going back to the silly gas prices..If you can offer the same deal with gasing up the vehicle you will be using. Even if it is ten dollars and they put ten dollars in..

One last thing..I know, I talk a lot.

If you can find room to pack it, before you leave to visit, go to the second hand store (thrift store, good will, Salvation army, whatever) and buy a few board games that all can play. Better than all going to a movie, (Egads that can be a week's pay right there, and that is just for two) Better than watching TV, or playing mindless video games meant only for one or two (and with THREE girls...there is an argument waiting to happen). Most of the time you can get good board games for only a couple of dollars if that. I bought a very old but complete Monoply game at a church GROJ (get rid of junk) sale for $2.

I hope all this rattling on I did helps. Enjoy your visit.
