To keep beverages in pitchers from being watered down by ice as it melts - fill a ziplock bag with ice and float it in the pitcher; remove ziplock bag when necessary.
Another thing to do is freeze some kind of juice and use that for your ice cubes. That way when they melt it doesn't water your drink down.
