Save the tubes from paper towels - makes a good thing to roll up a computer-made banner - i.e. happy birthday....

Editor's Note: Also works great for storing small posters. Just roll up the poster and slip it inside of the paper towel tube.

Scrap pieces of PVC pipe is great as well. It is solid so if something accidently gets set on the tube, it doesn't get crushed.

don't forget about using the tubes that wrapping paper comes on...these work great for anything as you can always cut it down to the size you need!
