Cream Cheese and Manzanilla Stuffed Celery

This may sound strange to some but this cream cheese blend tastes pretty good on a plain bagel too.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 large celery stalk, trimmed and cut into serving pieces
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup plus 1 Tbsp. pimento stuffed Manzanilla olives, chopped
  • pinch of salt
  • tabasco sauce, to taste

Directions:

Mix the cream cheese, olives, and salt in a bowl and add tabasco to taste a few drops at a time.

Spread filling into the inside of each celery piece; cover and refrigerate for about an hour to allow flavors to blend.

Hey Guys, Just made this again but decided to try Frank's Red Hot Sauce instead of the Tabasco and I liked that flavor even better! Just can't help experimenting I guess. ;-)

We like celery with almost anything stuffed in it. Cream cheese with chopped pecans, peanut butter,
pimento cheese, so this recipe will definitely be included in my book.

Thank you Deeli.

Deeli, we would like the stuffed celery just as you've written it, but our favorite is cream cheese and the chopped olives on slices of date-nut bread. The wonderful old Wolfie's Deli Restaurants spoiled me with that combination, and it's a shame that other restaurants haven't caught onto their "perfect wisdom". LOL.
Thanks for another great recipe.

Oh, Deeli, how I would love to have a couple of days to pore over your recipe books/file! You have not posted anything that doesn't make me want to get in the kitchen and start cooking/fixing. I think we must have identical tastebuds. Thank you so much for all you share.
