I am a full-time professional artist and buy most of my supplies from DickBlick.com. Their regular prices for canvases, brushes and paint, in particular, are much cheaper than my local art supply stores and they deliver to my door. Customer service is usually great, too. Just requires planning ahead, but the cost savings and wide selection of products are wonderful. I have been telling my fellow artists about the place, too!

Rather then buying even cheap art supplies why not invent new ones.
1 A paint brush made from a McDonalds straw.
Cut straw at at both ends leaving only one side left.
take craft Knife ,Scissors or razor blade slit end of straw like brush hairs to desired sizes .
Insert pencil inside of Brush straw for extra wieght.

2.many common everyday throw away articles can be used to craft a sculpture or give texture to a painting.
Immagination and Experimentation.

3.It is possible to make types of stains, paint, and even clays just with stuff you have around your home.
4.and Artist Canvas can be anything from a piece of metal and old board or a stone, again Immagination and originallity should be your guide.

Cheap Art Supplies?
Right in your Home Friends.
And since you have a computer the formulas for those paints and clays are just a click or to away.
Paint On Friends!
