Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 heaping Tbsp. butter
- 2 cups warm or hot milk
- 2 egg yolks, beaten lightly
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 pie shell, baked (9inch)
- 2 egg whites
- 3-4 Tbsp. sugar
Directions
Put the butter and 3/4 cup sugar in skillet and brown. Add warm milk egg yolks, cornstarch; cook until thick. Add vanilla and pour into baked pie shell. Beat the egg whites until very foamy and gradually add sugar, continuing to beat until stiff. Spread on top of filling. Bake at 425 degrees F for 5-10 minutes.
