Crafts for 4th Birthday Party

My daughter recently had a 4th birthday party. We invited 3 of her friends and painted handprint flowers on pillowcases. We painted as soon as they arrived and by the time the party was over, the paint was dry!

Dukane (Doberman)

Dukane is a 4 year old Doberman. We got him from a very good doberman breeder here in Wisconsin 4 years ago.

He likes to play football. Dukane is a very loving Doberman. He is so smart he watches over my yorkie Tessa.

Baby (Tuxedo Cat)

Baby is a 5 year old Tuxedo Cat. I got her at the Humane Society; Christmas 2000 (I'll never forget that night - my first pet!)

She likes to sleep (of course!), race the wind up toy I have for her, create mischief wherever she goes (i.e. playing with a pen and lodging it under the sofa!)

Washing Stinky Sports Clothes

Kids into team sports this year? All those "sweaty" uniforms and socks making you wish you had a clothespin for your nose? How will you ever get them fresh again using the bargain brand detergent?
Just add a half cup of white vinegar to your wash and all the oders will be gone and it will give your washer a thorough cleaning of any built up mineral deposits at the same time.

Cruise Control, Not in the Rain

Do not use your cruise control when driving in rain, should you hydroplane, your car will accelerate 10 to 15 mph causing possibly a serious or deadly accident.

Using Baggies for Bill Organizing

I use baggies for everything. When all my bills are paid I put all the invoices in a baggie and put the month/year on outside. That way if I ever have to go back to find something it's easy. I used to use folders but when I would pick them up all the stuff would fall out.

Meat Slicing Tip

To slice meat into thin strips, as for stir fry dishes, partially freeze it so it will slice more easily.

By Peggy

Before trying to slice chicken or steak place it in the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes.

This will make it easier to slice or cube the meat.

Working At Home

I'm just wondering if anyone might have some suggestions for this. I'm no longer working due to a back injury and also because of Fibromylgia. Anyway, I'm seriously thinking of finding a home job where I can do things on my PC for people in my spare time. I can do a lot of different things such as typing, working with graphics. I know many programs, etc. I get so bored some days when I know I could be doing something to help bring in some kind of extra money to help out.

I'm from Canada and I can afford to dish out money to get things started. So my question is how and where do I start to look for this type of work where it is actually legit? I dont want to get into something thats not for real or is going to cost me a lot of money as we just don't have it. If anyone can direct me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it a lot.

Thank you,
Yvonne from Ontario

Removing Mothball Smell From Clothes and Coats

Last night while visiting my sister-in-law in her new home, she asked if I knew of any way to remove the smell of moth balls. Having their clothing packed for a few months, she added moth balls, not thinking of the consequences of that awful smell. She is now desperate to get rid of the odor from their clothing. Any Suggestions?

Paula's Kitchen

I am planning on doing some kitchen redecorating and need a little guidance. My kitchen has knotty pine walls, one wall is wallpapered, white appliances, plywood cabinets stained a dark brown and, you're not going to believe this, linoleum countertops! I can't afford anything new so I am going to paint everything. My wallpaper is a faded country look of old recipe cards, the colors are tan, with bits of dark green, blue and burgundy.

I am trying to decide whether to paint my cabinets dark blue or dark green. Does anyone out there have dark painted cabinets? How do you like them? I am afraid of making my small kitchen look like a dark cave, what are your opinions? I am going to paint the linoleum countertop with dark paints to resemble granite, or would just plain white look better? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Painting Aluminum Siding

My husband and I have an older home which has part aluminum siding that is in pretty good condition. I am wondering if it is a good idea to have it painted or should we try and save up and have it sided with vinyl siding? In the end, we could save a lot of money by having it painted instead of resided but I am curious what your thoughts are about painting aluminum siding. Hope to hear from you all soon!
