I taped the hardwood floor with masking tape a long time ago to paint the moldings. I'm just getting around to removing it and having an awful battle! Anyone have any solutions to try? Thanks!

Just tried vegetable oil, and it was a SLOW process. The winner is nail polish remover! The tape came off VERY easily!

USE alcohol on a rag...simple! Car dealers & body shops do this to get the sticker residue off of the windows when cars are purchased!

Good Luck!

There is a product called "Goo Gone" that removes sticky tape residue very well. I have also used plain old baby oil/mineral oil to do the same.

Have you tried WD-40? It might work.

Have you tried using a hairdryer on the highest setting to heat it up before you try to peel it off? I haven't tried to remove tape from hardwood floors, but this technique has helped for other items with hard-to-remove tape. Good luck!
