Substituting Splenda or Ideal Sweetener for Confectioners Sugar

We are watching our refined sugar intake and I was wondering if anyone has tried substituting Splenda or Ideal sweeteners for confectioners sugar in a glaze for cupcakes or cakes?

How about taking raw sugar and using it? Or how about honey?

I have made cakes for diabetics with splenda substituted cup for cup with sugar. E.g. If recipe calls for 1 cup sugar I use 1 cup splenda. Makes lovely cakes.
