Root Beer Freeze Recipe

RE: Root Beer Freeze Recipe Post By rony (Guest Post) (06/30/2008) From my childhood experiences here in San Francisco, we always went to a local ice cream shop called Swensen's to get our root beer freezes. To my knowledge, a Root Beer Freeze is simply a Root Beer Float blended like a shake with extra ice cream added for thickness. As a fan, i've also seen them called Root Beer Shakes and Black Cows... though with a Black Cow, sometimes soda water is added for extra carbonation. For me the perfect Root Beer Float/Freeze uses one part Barq's Root Beer along with two parts your choice of a good premium real vanilla bean ice cream - Haagen-Daas Vanilla or Ben & Jerry's Vanilla can be found in most places if you don't have a local favorite, then simply blend and enjoy. Warning: it can be so good you'll want to gulp it right down... so you'll want to beware of the dreaded...... brain freeze!
