My neighbor's dog barks 24 hours a day when they go out of town. Nobody will call the police because we are all afraid of the owner. After trying many solutions, I bought a sonic dog bark stopper which cost $40+ and did not work. He barks 3 feet from my bedroom window (it's where the fence is) so I don't get any sleep and earplugs are useless. I accidentally discovered a solution. A sonic mole/gopher repeller from Harbor Freight tool store. It beeps about every minute or so and apparently he does not like the sound. I place it under my window and I can hardly hear it. It does not stop him barking but it keeps him away from my window.

I have gone into their yard. The dog has shelter, food and water. He barks because he is bored and lonely. The authorities won't do anything about that. It's a bad situation, but I don't think leaving your dog alone is considered cruelty.

It sounds like the sonic mole repeller just adds to an already cruel situation for the dogs. Doesn't your area have a humane society?

They leave the dog outside while they're out of town. I'm pretty sure that's legal abuse. Especially if the dog doesn't have proper shelter, food & water. The police don't have to know who calls them. I've always called anonymously. That dog needs to be saved.

They need a dog/house sitter! I'd approach them with the idea. Why should you have to listen to a sad lonely dog!
