An unusual painting technique to get that 3D effect.
Approximate Time: 20 - 30 minutes
- sheet of paper
- white glue
- craft paint
- Pour some white glue into two small bowls. Add a little paint (one color per bowl) to the glue in each bowl. Stir both to tint the glue.
- Pull wisps of fluff from the cotton and place several into each bowl. Move the cotton wisps through the paint and glue mixture to color the cotton.
- Place the colored cotton onto the sheet of paper. Use your fingers to push, pull, and separate the cotton, spreading it over the paper to create a design. Cotton will dry rock solid and your creation will have a 3D effect.

I like this idea, and to make it more dimensional, why not add cotton stuffing beneath the large pieces. I always save the cotton from medicine and vitamin bottles. I'd also use colored foam sheeting rather than paper as a backing so it won't so easily absorb the color. : )
