Building Furniture from a Kit |
|
|
To save money on furnishings, get furniture kits instead of furniture that is already built. Building from a kit comes out just as well as ready built. It just requires a little effort and generally it is not that hard to follow instructions. Build it yourself. A little elbow grease can save a ton of cash.

Where did gardencraft find the white bookshelves, that's exactly what I have been looking for.

You can get upholstered furniture kits from http://www.homereserve.com.

I'd be interested in finding out sources also. I built a solid wood nightstand that I use for my printer stand. It took me about a weekend, including finishing with stain. It's beautiful.

Where do you shop for funiture kits? If you buy it online, would'nt it cost a fortune for shipping?

I just did this, it was going to be $1800 for just the computer desk and hutch that I wanted to set up a computer and library room. Went on line and got a beautiful white cottage look desk & hutch, as well as 7 shelving units for my books! With shipping it cost less than just the computer desk and hutch was going to cost at a furniture store! Here is a picture of 3 of the shelving units.

What do you consider the better sources for these kits?
