Cinnamon Nut Coffee Cake

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cup flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped English walnuts
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • Hot water as needed

Directions:

Cream 1 cup sugar and 1 cup margarine. Add 2 eggs. Sift 3 cup flour and 3 tsp. baking powder. Alternate adding flour mixture and 1 cup milk to batter. Place 2/3 of the batter in a buttered 9x13 inch pan. Mix 1 1/2 cup brown sugar, 2 tsp. cinnamon, and 1 cup walnut pieces. Spread 3/4 of this on the batter.. Follow with remaining batter then brown sugar mixture. Over the batter drizzle 1/2 cup melted margarine. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Do not over bake. While still warm drizzle powdered sugar glaze over baked cake.
