Scenery: Sunrise

I woke up very early one morning and took these pictures from my front window of our beautiful sunrise. I hope you'll like my sunrise, and will vote for "our good morning world"

A colorful sunrise over the Puget Sound, with a boat and dock.
I was up early Sunday morning while visiting family in Manchester, WA. I noticed the sunrise was full of color and thought it would be a great time to walk down to the water, with my camera and tripod. They turned out pretty good, I think. READ MORE

Sunrise from My Porch
Sunrises and Sunsets are such a blessing we enjoy every day living on a lake. Once in a while we get one that is spectacular and just have to capture so we can share with all those who chose to live elsewhere for one reason or another.

Look at the photo again, there's an angel right in the middle. Her wings are fully spread, she's playing a flute, her hips are slightly turned making her gown fluff out. What a great photo! (12/10/2009)

Today, I gazed up at the sky of dawn and all that came up to my mind was "To Infinity and Beyond"

This was taken in the morning after sunrise. The colors were stunning and the neighbor's barn made such a pretty picture in my camera's eye. The beauty in the colors is exquisite. It made me glad I get up early. The sight of this made me smile.

If there is a better way to wake up than to a sunrise like this I haven't seen it. The color was so spectacular, I ran out in my nightgown to get this picture knowing that it could be gone in seconds.

To show how much I wanted this picture, I was barefoot and we had a foot of snow on the ground. All I had to do was step out the door and go about 10 feet from the front porch, believe me it didn't take long to get back in the house. As you see it was worth every bit of cold toes.

We live by a lake and the pink reflection from the sky repeated itself on the snow and ice. Simply spectacular!

Absolutely awesome, Ann! And running out in the snow to take a photo sounds like something I would do even though I shouldn't. :-) (02/20/2011)

RE: Scenery: Sunrise

Thanks Ann for sharing such a great photo of such a beautiful sunrise! It was definitely worth running out into the snow for! I hope your toes are warmer now ;-) I would have done the same thing, as I know the scene changes in seconds when I'm taking pictures of sunsets. Your picture is so beautiful I'm saving it in my computer (credited to you, of course). (02/20/2011)

Remember the old saying: "Red sky at night, sailors' delight; Red sky in the morning, sailors' take warning." This is such a case.
