Write Information On The Back Of Pictures

Write your child's age, weight, and height on the back of professional photos (school pics, baby pics from a studio, etc) or on good quality home pictures. If, heaven forbid, you're child were to come up missing, you'll have important identifying information in one place. Fortunately, for most of us, this will simply be a nice record of our childrens' development. Be careful to write lightly or you will be able to see where you wrote on the front of the picture. You could use a peel-n-stick label instead.

DO NOT write on the back of the picture. Over time the pen will come through the picture amd ruin your picture, so I have been told, UNLESS you use an acid free ink. Rather, write the information on a piece of paper and keep it with the picture.

This is a great idea. I can only add one suggestion. Scrapbookers will already know this. You can purchase grease pencils at craft stores for writing on the back of pictures. Grease pencils are usually inexpensive; I'd say under $1. Ink from pens contain acid, which over time, will leak through your pictures and ruin them. Also, any labels you use on the back should be acid free as well or the same thing will happen.

Just thought I'd add this information to this excellent suggestion because if you don't ever need the picture to identify your child, (which hopefully will be the case) you will want to keep the picture nice for your photo album or for framing.
