Thank you so much for the quick response. I really do appreciate it. I got this from my mother in law and she died unexpectedly a few years ago & my father in law just tossed/gave away many of her things.I had no access to it anymore. I always use this for my pies, nothing else. My recipe didn't use sugar, I may leave this out or try it at least once with it.

2 1/2 cups unbleached all purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) chilled unsalted butter, diced
1/2 cup chilled solid vegetable shortening
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons buttermilk
