To keep rice from clumping, add a few drops of cooking oil or a teaspoon of butter or margarine to the cooking water. For snowy white rice, add a few drops of lemon juice or vinegar to the cooking water. If your rice turns out like wallpaper paste, use it in a casserole, in soup, or to stuff peppers. Try again, using less water. Fluff the rice gently with a fork before serving.

Try Basmatti rice! Just follow the cooking directions on the box or bag. It has a wonderful natural flavor compared to plain rice. I just add a bit of margarine or butter to it after. More expensive, but worth it. My family raves about it.
