My Dog Doesn't Like to Play Ball

I just got a Husky x German Shepherd from the pound. He's awesome and already my best mate. My question is: he won't play with a ball. He's very clever and whoever let him go has put time into him. He's about 12-18 months. He sits, lies down, shakes hands, tells me when he needs to go to the toilet, but no ball play. Is this something Huskies just aren't interested in?

Just like we humans all beings each simply find some things fun but not other things. I truly don't think it has to do about breed but rather individual personality. Maybe your baby would prefer playing Frisbee or with a stick or just play by interacting with you one on one?
