Post your answer: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf61603491.tip.html
Yesterday I mentioned that my daughter had left to go to Vietnam for a couple months, well today, they have an article about her in our local paper.
http://www1.kitsapsun.com/bsun/features/article/0,2403,BSUN_19080_4581927,00.html
The writer even mentions ThriftyFun in the article.
And yes, we are STILL picking the winners for February's tip contest. One reason why we changed to to picking winners weekly rather than monthly is it takes a long time to read and evaluate every tip submitted over the course of a month.
Thanks for reading,
Susan

Today's Tips
| Refurbished Computers
If you are looking for a deal on a computer and are leery of buying one from an online auction, you may want to consider refurbished computers. Large computer manufacturers like Dell and Apple sell refurbished computers with warranties at a 15% to 40% discount over buying the computer new. The benefit of buying them from the manufacturer is they come with a much longer warranty than you will get from an online auction, where items are usually sold as-is with the only guarantee being the item will not arrive dead on arrival. | Cleaning Wood Furniture
To clean wood furniture, etc., pour two tablespoons vegetable oil, add 4 tablespoons white vinegar and 1 quart warm water into a container. Wash with soft cloth and dry with clean dry cloth. It cleans just like Murphy's oil. Post Feedback: Click Here |

| Green Salad Preparation
I like to serve a salad every night with dinner but hated the preparation time. Now I make a large salad once a week. Put in a large tupperware bowl with cover. Cover the salad with ice cold water, put lid on and keep in fridge. You can use anything except tomatoes. When we are ready to serve, I take enough out for 2 servings, lay it on paper towel, pat it to remove excess moisture. Now we have a nice fresh, healthy salad every night. Each time you take salad out, wipe the inside lid off and change water every 3 days. I got this tip from a salad chef who had been doing this for years. Post Feedback: Click Here |

| Longer Life for Decorative Candles
You can get more use out of your decorative candles, or out of those candles poured right into their forms, by inserting votive candles in the well formed by the burning wax around the wick. I still use star-shaped candles set in terra cotta we used for a 2000 celebration that way. Post Feedback: Click Here |

Someone just gave me a really nice Rattan Dining Room Set, but it has a lot of scratches, some very deep. Is there anything I can fill them in with?
