My daughter will be pinned on January 10, 2008 as a Dental Assistant. What would be a nice gift to bring to the pinning?

There is a company called Things Remembered that usually have kiosks in large shopping malls and they also have a website; they have a large number of items that you can have engraved. You could select something with her name, or initials or the date of her pinning. Maybe a frame, a professional pen set or something like that.

I was a long-time dental assistant.
Flowers are great, or a plant she can keep. She will get a sore neck and back, so a massage/vibrate pad for a chair will be very much used. She will wear out uniforms, and even though L & I requires that the office provide them, some don't, so a gift cert at a uni shop would be nice. Also, white shoes and shoe polish will help. She could use the hand creams specially made for wearing under gloves to keep skin healthy. If she has long hair, she might like hair clips or headbands to put long hair up or at least to the side. Ideas not to give: perfume (patients complain or are allergic) shocking red nail polish or long fake nails, rings with pokey corners such as stones. A framed picture of her children to enjoy during long days at work would be very good.
