More ways to save money on energy costs:
  • Wash all clothes in cold water.
  • Put clothes through a 2nd spin cycle in the washer to get even more of the water out before putting them in the dryer.
  • Hang your clothes out to dry.
  • If I come across any more tips I'll pass them along.

I put mine on a second spin dry I do it a few times. The more times you put the washer on the spin cycle the more water you will get out of your clothes and the less time they have to spend in the dryer or on the clothesline.

I would definitely not wash towels and underwear in cold water - especially if you are not going to use the dryer. No point in spreading germs around!

hang clothes out on the line to dry,
whites come out whiter, sheets smell aweson,
I hang out clothes, includung my towels out on the line, from early March to late Nov.
then down to the basement to dry.

Although saving energy and money are wonderful things, I would advise everyone to wash underwear and socks in HOT water. Studies show hot water is necessary to kill fecal germs and anthing like Athlete's foot.

Only wash full loads, but not over-stuffed loads.
