Making a Decoupage Tile Heat Resistant |
|
|
How can I make a tile that I have decorated with paper into a hot plate? I used something like Mod Podge to bond the paper onto the tile then I varnish with water based varnish. I am not sure how water/heat resistant a tile like this would be.
Thank you, Lisa from Greece

Lisa, Have you tried the Finish Perfect? If so, does it work? Want to make a trivet, but worried of messing up work on tile. Thanks!

For Janice: Sorry it took so long to get back to you but I wanted to give you this site which is a list of decoupage sites that might be able to help with your question. http://www.craftsitedirectory.com/decoupage/

Luvyabye, thank you for sending the info on Finish Perfect, it sounds ideal. Is this an American brand and do you know if it might be sold here in Europe??

Lisa, Did you ever find a solution? I am planning to paint or decoupage tiles that will slip into a decorative tile insert on my pot belly fireplace. So the sides of the fireplace will look tiled. Thus, I need to make sure my tiles are heat/fire resistant. I'd love to know if you found a solution.

Lisa, I was surfing and saw this product and I remembered seeing your question. I DO NOT know if this will work but it says "heat and alcohol resistant". I thought I'd let you see it and decide for yourself. http://www.fabricspraypaint.com/Def ... ?Item=DS3801090M&Name=Finish_Perfect
I was in your beautiful country a year and a half ago....loved it!!!
