Mouse Traps for the Garden

We use mousetraps to keep squirrels, rabbits and cats from ruining our garden. The noise scares them without hurting them so that they don't return.

Please don't use traps in your garden. If the original poster hasn't seen any animal hurt by them, it is always a possibility.
Dried fox or coyote urine, which needs to be reapplied after a time. Planting chives, garlic, or onions will work just as well and will provide protection for your plants all summer. Even human hair sprinkled around the garden works.
Animals only do what God intended for them to do, so please be kind and find a safe, natural, humane way to control them.

We have a lot of squirrels here (UK) and they can be a pest if they get in your loft space and gnaw at your electric cables. I would appreciate any advice that gets rid of them - preferably permanantly!
