Can anyone recommend a wild game cookbook? My son has requested a cookbook for Christmas, and since he also started hunting this year I thought a game cookbook would be good choice.

There is a cookbook for sale on this site (Arkansas Educational Television Network) called Arkansas Outdoors. It has various recipes for preparing wild game and fish, etc. And the proceeds from the sales go to support public television and educational programming.

MO state has Missouri Conservationist magazine, you might check with your state conservation. When we got our cookbook I think it was free and covered all game.

If you have a Cabela's,Gander Mt. or any hunting store near you they would have game cook books.Ask the sales person about a easy cookbook to start on.
Hope this helps.

Having been married to a hunter to 30 years I have been using the same book since. It is called Cooking Wild Game by Zack Hanle. My book is copyrighted 1974.

Many years ago my DH gave me "The Shooters Bible Cook Book" when we lived on a farm and lived off the land. I was a city girl and all my meats came wrapped in butchers wrap not fur. I don't know if it is still in print but it fed my family until I got the hang of wild game cooking.

Go to Amazon.com or Half.com and just do a search for the book or book catagory wanted. Good luck.
