Grape Salad

This is a really great tasting recipe that is super easy to make and always a hit. It's more nutritious than most deserts and can be made fast without spending a lot of money on ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 4 lbs. seedless grapes, washed and well dried (make sure grapes are not mushy, but firm)
  • 8 oz. cream cheese (softened to stirring consistency
  • 8 oz. powdered sugar
  • 8 oz. sour cream
  • 8 oz. cool whip (refrigerator temperature)

Directions:

Mix cream cheese and powdered sugar. Add sour cream and cool whip. After mixing these 4 ingredients, fold into grapes. Cover and refrigerate.

This is one of the best recipes I have ever tasted. I just ate some at a recent school alumni picnic and it never gets old. Make it every week.

This is one of the easiest, tastiest salads I ever made. I volunteered to help with a wedding, and this is one I mixed up:

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 lbs. seedless grapes, washed and dried
  • 1 cup English walnuts, chopped

Directions

Mix together cream cheese, sour cream and sugar and beat well. Then stir in remaining ingredients.

I fixed this for a diabetic, and just substituted the sugar for fructose.

RE: Grape Salad

Fructose raises triglycerides. Your diabetic friend probably has elevated tiglycerides, so you didn't do a favor. (01/19/2006)

RE: Grape Salad

Maybe Splenda sweetener could be substituted for the sugar? It comes in granular form now, and is supposed to measure cup for cup as a sugar substitute. (11/16/2006)

Not the same old-same old congealed salad. Delicious, easy, and not likely to be duplicated at a covered dish dinner
