Battery Operated Toothbrush for Stains
When trying to remove a stain from clothing, use an old battery operated toothbrush to work the pretreatment into the fabric. If the stain is small, you can dip the toothbrush in the pretreatment solution and keep your hands clean.

When I put a new bar of soap in the shower, I immediately unwrap the NEXT bar of soap and put it back in the bathroom cabinet until needed. This gives it time to "dry out", which keeps it from "melting" as fast when used!

I've always hated to throw away beautifully decorated tissue boxes, so when I was looking for a handy place to store plastic grocery bags, and keep them easily "grab-able", I came up with the idea to fold the bags as flat as possible (doesn't really take that long--like folding laundry) and place them in the tissue box. I keep it out on the counter with plastic bags ready to reach whenever needed.

When baking, always break your eggs, one at a time, in a separate small bowl before putting them in your mixing bowl. This allows you to make sure none of the eggs are bad. Then you just have to get rid of that one bad egg, rather than the bowl with all the other ingredients in it!

Use a paper hole puncher to punch new ring holes in your shower curtain if they have torn away. I have done this and received much more use from my favorite shower curtain. By Tim's Girl from Ohio

The following four tips are from our archive.
When my son goes to camp in the summer I pack a set of clothes for each day, shorts, shirts, underwear, etc., in a large ziploc bag. He has everything in one place and can grab a bag on the way to the shower. It also saves on packing space.

At the end of the summer, when your hard plastic wading pool develops a crack, turn it into a sand box. Add more cracks or holes in the bottom for drainage and add sand.

Save Money on Children's Clothing with Cut-Offs
This summer my daughter went through a growth spurt and shot up at least 3 inches! To save my money I cut off all her jeans and she's wore cutoffs all summer. This isn't new news to anybody but I think people don't do things like this enough. Too busy trying to keep up to the Jones doesn't keep money in your wallet.

Removing Face Paint Without Cold Cream
My daughters recently came home from a summer activity with face paint on. I didn't have any cold cream to remove it I wasn't sure how I was going to get it off, Then I remembered my friend telling me to use baby oil to remove mascara and eye shadow. So I tried the baby oil on the face paint it worked like a charm even on the thick blue eyebrows.

Featured Feedback: RE: Save Money on Kids Clothing
Buy your kids clothing at the end of the season for the next year. I have saved SOOO much money doing this. I buy things for $2-$4 instead of $10 or more. I have also stopped over-buying for them. I went CRAZY with clothes when they were little and they ended up with a lot of things they didn't even get a chance to wear. Even now, at ages 3 and 5 they have TONS of clothes in their closets that they don't wear-- they have their 'favorites' and that's what they want to wear.
I also sell their clothes at Mom to Mom resales when they outgrow them and use that $$ to buy their clothes for the next season.

Featured Feedback: RE: Tryng to keep cats out of the garden
Mix 2 tablespoons of flour, 2 tablespoons of mustard with 1 cup hot pepper sauce that contains habanera peppers, and 2 cups vinegar with 3 cups water. Blend well. Pour a thin stream in several areas of the garden. Sounds silly, but it works! The scent keeps cats away so it is harmless.

How to Get Out of Debt, Stay Out of Debt & Live Prosperously
by Jerrold Mundis
Millions of consumers have become trapped in a spiral of debt, but there is hope. If you wants to free yourself from the shackles of debt, this book is for you--it can help you "get out of debt, stay out of debt, and live prosperously." Jerrold Mundis writes in a friendly, engaging style, urging readers to stop the cycle of spending. Mundis knows what he's talking about--he, too, was once thousands of dollars in debt and didn't know where to turn. Anecdotes from Debtors Anonymous folks, plus multiple examples from the writer's own life and ledgers, make How to Get Out of Debt an encouraging read, not a condescending one. Once you start your program, you may want to periodically reread some chapters for inspiration--and fun. -Amazon.com

I love your newsletters, they have helped me to be a much more thrifty person. I'm needing some help but I don't know if anyone can help me but here it goes. I had gone to my doctor and he told me that I had one of the worse cases of sinus problems. It's so bad that I vomit day and night and I'm not able to keep food in my stomach. I have tried everything out on the market for sinuses and also the doctor has given me prescriptions for "meds". Right now there is nothing for me to take, so I was wondering if anyone knows of a herb or if there is something that I can do to resolve this problem that I have. I don't have much money and going to an ears, nose and throat doctor is really out of the question. I would really appreciate any help that anyone can give me. Thank You Wendy

Cat with worms that won't go away.
I have been treating a cat I've found for months with a liquid wormer that claims it's delicious however this cat doesn't think so. At any rate, it doesn't seem to be working. I'm not sure what type of worms they are but they are tiny worms that i see by his tail a few times a month. Once they are out they dry up into little hard balls. Any suggestions? Angie from Cali

Homemaking 101: Practice Makes Perfect
By Rachel Paxton
I recently paid a quarter for one of the most inspirational homemaking books I've yet to come across. Published in 1952 and written by Carolyn Coggins, it is called Successful Entertaining at Home. At first glance I thought this book was just a manual for teaching you how to host a successful dinner party, but at closer examination I saw that it was much more than that - it's "a complete party book and homemaker's manual all rolled into one."
