Free Photo Organizer From Google

"Picasa is software that helps you instantly find, edit and share all the pictures on your PC. Every time you open Picasa, it automatically locates all your pictures (even ones you forgot you had) and sorts them into visual albums organized by date with folder names you will recognize. You can drag and drop to arrange your albums and make labels to create new groups. Picasa makes sure your pictures are always organized."

Liberty Belle (DSH Tortie)

Liberty Belle is 5 years old and is a domestic shorthair tortoise shell calico. I got her as a 3 week old orphan.

She likes to snoop. This is a picture of her right after I told her I was not doling out any more food, I told her, "you want something, go out and look for it."

Let Me Wash Your Face Mommy

My daughter and her husband and our granddaughter and some other friends had gone four-wheeling near a lake. Our daughter had gotten very dirty and "dunked" herself in the lake. Amber, her daughter was washing her mother's face. This is a precious picture that we cherish; our granddaughter was about four years old.

Today's Tips

Displaying Children's Artwork

Children always bring home so much beautiful art work that sometime it is hard to find ways to display it. I put it on top of my kitchen table and cover it with a clear tablecloth. This way you can see it and it is protected. You can also make placemats, frame it, give it to relatives, or even put it on the refrigerator. If your child is past the artwork stage, you can also do this with any special school work.

Cleaning Cast Iron Frying Pans or Waffle Irons

There are 2 things that baffled me for a long time. How to clean the outside of a cast iron frying pan and get a waffle iron seasoned after being washed. My mom said, "In Scotland we put the frying pan in the fire." works like a charm to take away all the crud from outside. Just re-season by placing oil inside and leaving it in a 200 degree oven for 1/2 hour or so. Apparently a self cleaning oven will do it too.

As for the waffle iron that has been washed, or scorched, no fear. Fill it with salt and heat it for 45 minutes to an hour. It can be repeated if necessary. I always have coarse salt left after pickling, afterward I throw the salt on the ice outside if it's winter. Never throw salt on cement though. It eats the cement.

Don't Apply For Credit Too Often

Don't apply for credit if you think you will be denied. Don't try to apply for credit cards too frequently. Submitting too many credit applications in a short period of time can lower your credit score and make it more difficult to get credit when you really need it.

Stop Charging and Start Using Cash

If your credit card debt is getting out of hand, the first thing you need to do is stop using your credit cards. Many people get into the mindset of "I'll pay it off later" or "I'm already in debt, what will a little debt hurt?". They keep using credit cards for everyday expenses so they don't feel broke and don't have to change their spending patterns. Retire your credit cards, set up a budget and start paying with cash.

What Does the Bible Mean Joke

A father was approached by his small son who told him proudly, "I know what the Bible means!"

His father smiled and replied, "What do you mean, you 'know' what the Bible means?"

The son replied, "I do know!"

"Okay," said his father. "What does the Bible mean?"

"That's easy, Daddy." the young boy replied excitedly, "It stands for Basic Information Before Leaving Earth."

EZ Hair "Set" Tip

After washing and conditioning, apply mousse, especially around the crown and put on a plastic headband with teeth and push it forward to create a little poof in the front. Let air dry. I then comb over my side part. Without that, I would not have any lift to my hair at the crown!

Bike Security Tip

For bike security, put the child's name, address, and phone number in the handle bar of the bike with the rubber handle off. Then put the rubber handles or plastic handles back on. If the bike gets lost or stolen and there's any question as to who it belongs to, all you have to do is pull the hand grips off and get out the paper saying who it does belong to.

Celery Substitute

Celery usually sells in a bunch, but my husband and I can't use that much before it spoils. Instead, I keep cans of water chestnuts in the pantry to use as a substitute. The water chestnuts are moist and crunchy, similar to celery so they work great in stuffing, casseroles and Chinese-wok meals.

Frozen Breaded Mushrooms

I used to be able to buy frozen OreIda mushrooms that I could fry or bake and serve with ranch dressing. Any frozen mushroom would do, I don't like the fresh picked ones. If the stores don't sell them is there someway to come up with my old frozen mushrooms? I saw them fresh in the vegetables and don't know if those breaded are the same as the old OreIda frozen ones. And if they do taste the same, what recipe do you use to fix them? I am so stumped and would appreciate any help. I recently got to enjoy some fried mushrooms at a Dairy Queen when we were traveling in Missouri. Sure do miss eating them. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Homemade Ice Cream Advice

I have only tasted and loved, but never have made, homemade ice cream in a maker before. Does anyone know how to prevent that quick-melting drawback homemade ice cream has? Also, I want to use organic ingredients. Does anyone see any drawback to that? I know it can be frozen quickly in the fridge, but I remember it melting before it got to my bowl. What did my family do wrong so I might improve upon it? Any guaranteed recipes and techniques? God bless all ice cream lovers!

Look at the Dollar a Day
By Kelly Ann Butterbaugh

Face it, budgeting is hard. Sometimes what makes it so difficult is the "big picture." Paying $50 a month for something doesn't seem so bad until you realize how many things cost $50 a month. Now the $50 turned itself into $250 a month. Instead, try this simpler approach and see if it works for you. The least it can do is make you more aware of your expenditures.
