Product Review: EZ Squeeze Tube Squeezer Last November, when on a visit to my neighborhood Dollar Tree, I happened to stumble upon this product. It is an E Z Squeeze Tube Squeezer. It's made to enable you to use all of the toothpaste from the tube! I purchased one, which was all I could find at the time. I came home and immediately began using it. Wow! I can't say enough about this ingenious product. I absolutely love it! Once you use about 1-1/2 inches of your tube of toothpaste, you insert the flattened tube end into it and roll up the tube and keep the remainder of the tube full. See, my photo. It is so much nicer looking in your bathroom too. The best thing is that it only cost $1.00! What a great thrifty frugal purchase that is! I have one in each of my bathrooms. On the package it states that you can use it for other tubed items but, I admit, I have only used it for toothpaste. When I had a frugal/cookie swap party at my house in November, this was one of the ideas I shared with my party guests. I have since shared it with my children, other friends, and my sisters. I even gave mine away, while on a visit to a sister's home in North Carolina, because we couldn't find them at her local Dollar Tree. When she came to visit me, we went to my Dollar Tree and she bought 6-8 of them to give to her children. I am not sure how long this product has been on the market, but I can assure you that if I have one that breaks, I will have a spare one to replace mine. They must go like "hotcakes" as I only see them at the Dollar Tree about every 3rd visit there. Source: Found this product at the Dollar Tree. Not sure if they are sold anywhere else. Make your own cake and stick the cutouts on the cake. Get matching hats and napkins from the dollar store. For adults, you could use cut-outs from old birthday cards or Mother's Day cards. Bobby (Border Collie/Springer Spaniel Mix) Bobby is a 16 year old Border Collie/Springer Spaniel mix. At a trip to the flea market, we saw a few 8-week-old puppies in the back of someone's pickup truck. We bought him for $15. He loves to wade and swat at anything that moves in the water. He also enjoys laying out in the snow for hours at a time. Bobby has been the perfect dog. Never had any bad habits and always wanting to please. He'll be 16 April 1st, 2009, and is in great health! We love him to bits. By Peggy G from Yulan, NY Contest Contender!

Use a Steam Iron to Remove Stickers How many of you Moms out there have spent entirely too much time trying to remove stickers that have been stuck on every surface in the entire house by your ornery toddler? Hold onto your bonnets, ladies! You ready? Use the steam from your iron to remove any type of sticky sticker off any surface! Fill your iron chuck full of water and turn the heat and steam on High. Let it get good 'n hot, then hold your iron upright or over your sticker nightmare and start pressing that steam button as fast as you can. In seconds, the entire sticker can be lifted off with absolutely NO residue left on the surface. May all of you sticker-removing Mommies sleep better tonight knowing that at least ONE toddler mess that can be cleaned up with ease. By April from Albany, GA Contest Contender!

Set a Timer to Prevent an Overflowing Bathtub I used to be the world's worst at forever overflowing my bathtub! I'd get it started then wind up on the computer or doing something else and next thing I knew I had water all over the place! I never over flow it anymore. I went to the dollar store and bought 2 small timers that have the clips on the back. One for each bathroom. Now as soon as I get the water running I grab the timer, set it and start it, and clip it to the neck or as high up as I can of my clothing. As soon as it goes off, I know to go in and shut the water off. I haven't over flowed the tub once since I got these 3 years ago! By Cricketnc from Parkton, NC Contest Contender!

Use Both Store and Manufacturer Coupons Many people do not realize that you can use coupons from the manufacturer along with the store coupon. For example, Walgreen has a coupon for Dawn soap for 99 cents. I have a coupon from the paper for 75 cents off Dawn. I can use them both and get it for 24 cents. CVS, Walgreen and Dollar General will often have specials that are very cheap. When combined with a coupon, often they become free. I never pay for our shampoo, conditioner, deodorant or toothpaste this way. With CVS, you can register on line for a free card to take advantage of many special prices. However, often their non-special items will be overpriced, so stick to the freebies to come out ahead. By Mom-from-missouri from NW Missouri Contest Contender!

Neighborhood Barter Bulletin Board Do you live in an apartment complex or close knit neighborhood? Start a barter bulletin board in a clubhouse or pass flyers or newsletter in the neighborhood. Times are hard and someone might have something you need in exchange for something they need. Maybe you need a mattress and someone else needs a dresser, or a single guy would like a home cooked meal in exchange for changing the oil in your car; laundry in exchange for yard work. So many things like babysitting exchanges, car pooling exchanges, exchange rental movies for a night. Just put your mind to it and you will come up with something you can get for nearly free or the cost of your labor. Good luck! By Tracey from Thomasville, GA Contest Contender!

Attach Velcro to Prevent Laundry Basket from Slipping in Car I am a teacher and am always transporting stuff back and forth to school and my car can get cluttered very easily. My pet peeve is to hear things sliding around in the back of my SUV. So I took a laundry basket to organize all the (necessary) junk in my car. Umbrellas, book bags, sun visors, etc and I put velcro strips (purchased at Wal mart). It is the kind that has a sticky back and not the sew on type) on the bottom of the basket. The velcro "grabs" the carpet in the back and won't let it slide around. Love it! By Sweetie6116 from GA Contest Contender!

My husband has experienced some bad leg cramps at night during the past couple of months. Somewhere in the deep recesses of my senior brain I had "filed" this homegrown remedy. This cramp was so bad that he couldn't even walk to the kitchen. I went to the refrigerator and got him a couple of kosher baby dill pickles. He ate them, and in just a few minutes the cramp completely subsided. Don't ask me how or why, but it has worked on the two different times I've given him the pickles. Use Hot Water in Carpet Steam Cleaner When steam cleaning your carpets yourself, don't waste your money on the shampoo. Instead, put a large pot of water on the stove, heat it until it almost boils (to where it's steaming but not boiling). Pour the water into your machine and clean. If you like, add 1/3 cup of rubbing alcohol for sanitary freshness. Contest Contender!

Use Empty Tissue Boxes for Small Trash Can Don't throw empty tissue boxes away right away. They can have a second life as perfect little trash cans for vanity table or bathroom! Having one where you do your makeup makes it so much easier to throw used cotton swabs, eyeliner shavings, etc. neatly away. This is how I use them, but they could probably be used in crafts, too. When it's full, you can just throw it away. By Paula from San Francisco, CA Contest Contender!

Rate It: Making Adobe Brick with Cement Added I live in Arkansas and hope someone can help me. I've done a lot of research on the web in search of what I need, to no avail. I am needing help with a recipe to make my own Adobe brick to build a home with. This isn't your regular adobe that just washes away. This recipe has a little cement in it to make it virtually indestructible. The wiring is run through the walls through PVC pipe. Also, if anyone has good plans for building one of these on a 2 story level I'd like all the help I can get. I've never done this before but I've got a lot of ideas. Rate It: Tomato Plants With Yellow Leaves I have a small greenhouse that I start over 400 tomato plants in for sale. This spring we have had some pretty nasty weather and some warm days too. Since I have transplanted all the plants into 3.5 inch pots, some are doing great and some are turning yellow and their growth seems to be stunted. Although I am a smoker, I always wash my hands and wear disposable gloves every time I transplant my plants. I have only 2 or 3 weeks before I'll start to sell my plants and I want to make sure they are the best around, as they usually are. I have repeat customers that rely on my quality plants. My greenhouse pots are all new and my soil is MiracleGro potting mix. Could I have over watered them? The greenhouse gets up to about anywhere from 60-100 degrees during the day and at night I use 4/100 watt bulbs to keep them warm. Sometimes I've had to cover them with sheets of white plastic so they don't get too cold. I am sending pictures of a good plant and some yellowing plants. I was thinking of re-transplanting the yellow ones, but that's probably 60 plants! Please help me! Hardiness Zone: 4a By motheroneil from Sheridan, WY
