Gallon sized Ziplocs are also very handy if you have leftovers from a restaurant meal. Even if the "to-go" container leaks, it will not make a mess in your cooler.
I always use a bag for the motel remote control to the television. I read a nasty statistic about the germs found on them. Some remotes are larger than others so just to be safe I pack a couple extra large bags.
When traveling, I firmly believe in "Ziplocks or bust." Especially with kids!! I use zip locks when packing for anything that may open in my bag. Like lotion, shampoo, hair product, toothpaste. I use it as a makeup bag for the week. But most importantly I use it for my baby. Dirty diapers can become a really smelly situation. With a housekeeper visiting only once a day those diapers can stack up. Place each diaper in a zip lock and it's odor free vacationing. Also good for those clothing accidents! Ah, ziplock, endless possibilities!

One time during a doctor's visit we changed my dd's diaper and put it into one of our bags and the doctor said we could dispose of it in his trashcan, the trashcan in the exam rooms tell you not to do so, but we let us, I guess, because we put it into a bag. (12/10/2004)
