Lawnmower Has No Spark at Plug

My L110 John Deere mower has no spark at the plug wire. What could be the problem?

Ive been a small engine tech for about 20 years.
It sounds like you have a bad coil.

My husband says that there is a coil on them and it needs to be replaced. Also you may need to change the points. (07/10/2008)

Mine is a Tecumseh, but it needed a magneto. It isn't 2 years old yet. (07/10/2008)
