Au Gratin Potatoes

These are some of my favorite potatoes ever! Love the cheese.

Ingredients:

  • 9 medium potatoes
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups half and half
  • salt
  • 1/4-1/2 lb. cheddar cheese, grated

Directions:

Boil potatoes in skins, and cool. Pare and grate coarsely. Layer potatoes and cheese in greased 3 quart casserole. Heat butter and half and half together. Add salt and pour over potatoes. Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour. Top with more cheese and bake 15 minutes longer.

This is a great dish to prepare ahead. When ready to bake, heat butter and milk. Pour over potatoes.

RE: Easy Au Gratin Potatoes

This is so good...also seen it called Party Potatoes and Funeral Potatoes, cause its a good pot luck dish. Some also crush up cornflakes mix with melted butter and put on top last 10-15 minutes or so when cooking to give it a crunchy topping. (04/08/2008)

Butter casserole dish and alternate sauce and potatoes until full. Or just mix the potatoes and sauce together and pour into casserole.

Mix all ingredients together. Put in greased 9x13 inch pan. Cover with shredded cheese. Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
