Surprise Pies

I have been looking for a recipe for surprise pies. My mother made these when I was young. I think they were made in a cupcake pan (graham crust?) and the filling was chewy and had chocolate chips in it. I've searched everywhere to no avail. I know somebody, somewhere, has heard of these. Help!

This is a recipe that Paul Deen (FoodNetwork) made on one of her shows. You could probably adjust the recipe to make cupcakes:

MONSTER COOKIES

Recipe Summary
Difficulty: Easy
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Inactive Prep Time: 3 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Yield: 3 dozen

3 eggs
1 1/4 cups packed light brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 12-ounce jar creamy peanut butter
1 stick butter, softened
1/2 cup multi-colored chocolate candies
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup raisins, optional
2 teaspoons baking soda
4 1/2 cups quick-cooking oatmeal (not instant)

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or nonstick baking mats.
In a very large mixing bowl, combine the eggs and sugars. Mix well. Add the salt, vanilla, peanut butter, and butter. Mix well. Stir in the chocolate candies, chocolate chips, raisins, if using, baking soda, and oatmeal. Drop by tablespoons 2 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheets.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Do not overbake. Let stand for about 3 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool. When cool, store in large resealable plastic bags.

Try this-
Surprise pie

1 9" pie shell, unbaked
1/4 cup bitter or margerine, softened
1/2 cup browm or white sugar
1 cup dark or light corn syrup
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup quick oats
1/2 cup shredded coconut 1/2 cup chocolate chips

prepare pie crust.
cream butter, add sugar and cream until fluffy.
add corn syrup, and mix well.
beat eggs separately, then add to sugar mixture.
fold in oats, chips, and coconut.
pour into pie shell.
bake 50 min. at 350 degrees, or until knife comes out clean.
This is how the recipe was given to me: i usually skip the coconut, and use either white sugar/light syrup or brown sugar/dark syrup. Makes a very sweet but delicious dessert.
