I just bought a used slowcooker. It's a Ralto Autoshift Crockpot. The button has only 2 choices - "hot" and "autoshift". Who can tell me what to do with a recipe that says cook on "low" for 6-8 hrs? How does this autoshift feature work? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

From what I understand, "autoshift" will cook your food on "high" for a couple of hours, then automatically shift to "low". How one would cook something that requires cooking on "low" for the duration, I don't know. With most recipes, I imagine a couple of hours on "high" wouldn't hurt, but would probably reduce the cooking time, so I'd check the food after about 4 hours (at the longest) and see how things were going. Sorry I can't be of any real help.
