Cauliflower and Peas

A good accompaniment with rice or roti. A veggie dish for vegans and all. Tasty and yummy.

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium cauliflower
  • 100 g fresh peas or frozen
  • 3 sprigs curry leaves
  • 3 sprigs coriander leaves*
  • 1 small onion chop
  • 1 small tomato chopped
  • 1 tsp. sunflower oil
  • 1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
  • 3 green chillies chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 piece ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. masala
  • 1/4 tumeric powder
*This is usually called cilantro in the U.S.

Directions:

Cut the cauliflower into florets. Peel ginger and garlic and chop fine.

Heat a pan,add oil. When oil is hot add the onion and chillies. Then add mustard and cumin seeds,then add masala, tumeric powder, tomato, ginger and garlic. Let them fry for a minute and put in the cauliflower and peas.

Stir fry for about 10 minutes until the cauliflower cooks a little. Add few drops of water so that it doesn't burn. Add the salt. Cover and cook till done. Serve with rice or roti.

Time:10 Minutes Preparation Time
15-18 Minutes Cooking Time
