Can I Burn Wood in a Pellet Stove?

Can I burn regular wood in a pellet stove that no longer works? If I put a grate inside?

The pipes going outside are not big enough for burning wood, there are so many reasons you shouldn't do it.
Not to mention your house insurance won't cover it.
