Breakfast Bake For Easter Morning
If you are looking for the perfect recipe for making on Easter morning, this may be it. This is a great dish to bring to a family brunch too.
- 2 pounds bulk pork sausage
- 3/4 cup broccoli florets
- 1/2 cup diced green pepper
- 1 cup asparagus, cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup red onion
- 3 cups shredded Jack cheese
- 12 slices white bread
- 12 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- 2 tsp. dry mustard
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Brown sausage until crumbly and cooked. Drain off all but 2 Tablespoons fat. Set aside sausage. Cut vegetables and saute in remaining fat and drain. Mix together cooked sausage with cooked vegetables and cheese. Layer bread then vegetable mixture in greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Combine eggs and seasonings in bowl, beating until light and fluffy. Pour egg mixture over everything in pan. Bake 1 1/2 hours or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Makes 12 servings.
