How do you get the perfume smell out of a bottle? I have a set of beautiful salt and pepper shakers but they were perfume decanters. They are glass with plastic tops.

I haven't tried this with a perfume bottle, but most smells come out of bottles if you fill it with water, stir in some sodium bicarbonate (I think Americans call it baking soda? We in Oz call it bicarb soda) and leave it overnight. Pour out and rinse.

Given that perfume is pretty strong, you might need to do this two or three times to get ALL the smell out.

Hope it works - good luck,
cheers,
julie
