Recipe: Chocolate Peanut Squares

Very simple recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups of semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cups of peanut butter
  • 1 1/3 cups of chopped dates
  • 3 cups of Bran Flakes (cereal)
  • Coconut to sprinkle

Directions

Put chips and peanut butter in saucepan and stir and melt over low heat. Remove from heat.

Add dates and bran flakes. Stir until well coated. Press in a 9x9 inch baking pan lined with wax paper.

Sprinkle with coconut. Chill thoroughly before cutting. Makes 36 squares.

Takes very little time to do and can be made for potluck.

Good cooking.

RE: Chocolate Peanut Squares

I want to try this but I don't have dates. Do you suppose the raisins in Raisin Bran would take the place of the dates and be almost as good? (10/22/2008)
