RE: Will a Small Sponge Plug Up My Toilet? By Jean in GA (Guest Post) My son when he was small flushed socks down the toilet. We couldn't keep the child in socks. For some reason he loved doing it. They never clogged the toilet up. But ink pens do. Things that aren't flexible sometimes can be sucked back up with a shop vac. I have used the shop vac to get ink pens, building blocks and a firetruck. Thank goodness he is out of that stage of life. Now, I just what him to put the lid down and aim straight. He is 18.
