Freezing Hot Dogs

When buying hot dogs, open the package put all the wieners on a cookie sheet, then freeze them. Once they are frozen put them in a freezer bag. Then when you want one or two, they will already be separated.

I never thought of this and, of course, have several bags of frozen clumps of hot dogs at any given time. :) I will definitely try your idea. Thanks for sharing.

I separate many items to flash freeze them before I freeze them in large bags, like pork chops, beef cubes, chicken breasts, thighs, bacon, etc., but never thought of separating hot dogs. Thanks for a great idea. I'll do that next time.

I find it too time consuming to fiddle with the cookie sheet. When hot dogs go on sale, I buy lots. I do the freezing, but instead I just pop the dogs into sandwich size ziplocs. Place the dog in a single layer and zip the bag closed
I then stack them making a tower of ziploc hotdog bags with the dogs in each layer facing a different way (more sturdy tower).
