Oriental Slaw

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup salad oil
  • 1/3 cup vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 3/4 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • Ad
  • 1 small head cabbage, about 4 cups
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 pkg. Chinese noodles

Directions:

Combine oil, vinegar, sugar, soy sauce, ginger and celery seed. Add shredded cabbage and onion. Refrigerate before serving. Toss with dry Chinese noodles. Best if made a day ahead, then add noodles just before serving.

Ingredients:

Dressing: (Mix one day ahead)
  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 3 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • spice packets from 2 pkgs. chicken ramen noodles
Salad:
  • 1 med. head cabbage
  • 4 sliced green onions
  • 1 1/2 cup toasted, slivered almonds
  • 1/4 tsp. toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 pkgs. ramen noodles, uncooked, crumbled

Directions:

Mix cabbage and green onions. Right before serving, stir in remaining ingredients and toss with dressing.
