I was making a pie, but didn't have pie weights or beans handy. I discovered that my oven-safe bread plates (Fiestaware) worked perfectly. I just love finding a new practical use for something I already have.

Great tip Stephanie, and you're so right about making
everything we have in our kitchens play double-duty. It
saves a lot of storage room, and saves money as well.
