When you buy new clothes in bright colors or red or black the best thing you can do is wash them in vinegar water first. That will lock in the dye and keep it from bleeding or fading.

All of my black t-shirts are fading unevenly, sort of white splotchy looking? Does anyone know what that is from? Would vinegar help with that? Also, white lint like stuff is stuck on all of my black clothing. I have tried just running the washing machine with only water and no soap. No luck.

I have a pink and a green colored tops whichi have to wash by hand as they lose color while washing in washing machine and stain other clothes. If i decide to lock their colors using vinegar, should i do them separately or its fine even if i treat then with vinegar together in washer.

How much you use depends on size of wash load. For a small load with 1 or 2 pieces, I set the water level to small load, tempreture to cold, and add 1/4 cup of vinegar. (No laundry detergent) Then just run through regular wash cycle (No soaking or rubbing required). Afterwards, I wash a second time with laundry detergent to get rid of the vinegar smell before drying.

Please give the exact amounts of
water and vinegar. Also, how long to soak or rub or what?

This is a great idea!
Do you just wash the clothes in a bucket with a vinegar-water mix, or put vinegar in the washing machine, or..?
Also, how much vinegar do you use?
