Reading this reminds me of years ago when our white cat jumped into the dryer while I was removing clothes. I shut the door and didn't know he was in there. When I heard him calling, I looked everywhere except the dryer for him, even under the house. Finally, of course, he was in the last place I looked; the dryer.
This is a VERY important tip... Be sure to check EVERYWHERE inside the home. I had a friend who found her little kitty stuck upside down behind her HOT WATER HEATER in her small apartment when she came home from work. If she'd found him any later he would have died. As it was he was not only traumatized, but severely dehydrated. We've found our lost cat behind our clothes dryer, locked in our garage & one time when he was little he was stuck inside the lattice-work that's under our mobile home addition. Fortunately he's very loud & vocal when called. Make sure your cats can't get behind your water hater or your washing machine & dryer & obviously, always know where your kitty is when you shut your garage door!
You can put up missing signs around your neighborhood, shake your cat food container, leave cat food outside to see if it comes by to eat, most cats are nocturnal (they sleep during the day and are awake at night), and they can see very well in the dark, call its name, if it has a noisy toy then you could go around outside shaking it, wait and it should show up sooner or later, look up trees (it might be stuck), look under your porch, look under vehicles and on top of the tires.
Hope this helps! :D hehe Kristi.
