Swapping Clothing With Other Moms
Since my son was born the biggest money saver for me has been a group of moms I swap with. We all have children within a year or two of each other so we just rotate the items the kids outgrow. This goes for everything from car seats, to clothes, to toys, changing pads, swings, and utensils. It has been a wonderful savings for all of us with the added bonus that no one has to store all of the stuff until their next one comes along. We just send it back around in the rotation as needed!

Measure all of the ingredients into a clean, dry bowl. Use a fork to combine everything evenly. If you are ambitious, you can powder everything in a blender. I don't always do this because I am lazy. You do get really impressive results from it though, and it is easier to do than one would expect. Transfer the mixture to a resealable container, or a pretty jar.
To Prepare: Place 2 tablespoons of Mocha Espresso powder in a small coffee cup. Add hot water to fill the cup (about 1/2 cup hot water.) If you are using a large coffee cup, increase the amount of Mocha Espresso powder you add. For instance, use 3 tablespoons to an average size coffee cup, (adding about 3/4 cup hot water). Stir well and serve.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and baking soda. Layer ingredients in order given in a quart size canning jar. Mix oatmeal in a blender. Grate chocolate bar and mix into the oatmeal. It is helpful to tap jar lightly on a padded surface (towel on counter) as you layer ingredients to make all ingredients fit neatly. Use scissors to cut a 9 inch- diameter circle from fabric of your choice. Center fabric circle over lid and secure with a rubber band. Tie on a raffia or ribbon bow to cover the rubber band. Attach a card with the following directions:
Gourmet Cookies
Remove chocolate chips and nuts with a large spoon. Empty cookie mix into large mixing bowl. Stir mix with large wooden spoon to evenly distribute ingredients. Add 1/2 cup softened butter or margarine, 1 egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Mix until completely blended. Mixture will be thick, so you may need to use a wooden spoon to finish mixing. Shape into walnut sized balls and place onto a greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Bake at 375 degrees F for 8 to 10 minutes until edges are lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes on cookie sheet and then place cookies on baking racks to finish cooling.

Saving Money on Wrapping Paper
Tips for saving money on wrapping paper. Post your ideas.
Gift Wrap Idea
Brown paper bags can be used as gift wrap. Cut bags to lie flat, turn the printed side on the inside, and wrap your package. Then decorate! Add some raffia or natural-looking ribbon for an earthy touch. Add pine cones, dried thistles, or evergreen touches to the raffia if desired. Brown paper bags can also be block stamped with designs in ink or paint, hand painted, or crayon colored by the kids for even more interesting wrapping paper.

Creamier Mashed Potatoes With Mayo
To make your mashed potatoes creamier, add a dollop of mayonnaise. I usually just add however much I want. If you are watching your weight you might want to substitute low-fat mayo instead.

When dividing large packages of hamburger meat to freeze, place each portion in a large zipper freezer bag, squeeze out excess air and roll out flat! This saves space in the freezer as you can stack the "meat pancakes" and it thaws quickly.

Putting an Artificial Tree in a Christmas Tree Stand
When using an artificial Christmas tree many larger durable tree stands are too large. Buy some PVC pipe and cut it in small and equal pieces to place inside the tree stand to make a circle around the smaller tree base. If you have pets, you can drill holes in the PVC pipe and place the screws in the tree stand through the PVC pipe for extra durability to hold the tree in place (so even when animals jump on the tree or rub against it, it is very study and the tree does not fall over).

I don't know about you, but I have tired of writing out gift tags year after year after year. This year, I am doing something different. I am a crafter and a stamper, and I have decided to make Permanent Gift Tags that can be used year after year (after all, I know I will give most gifts every year to the same group of people). I am going to needlepoint, paint and stamp until I have a permanent set of gift tags to use over and over again. Just think of all the time it will save every year not to have to write out those gift tags!

My 2 year old loves fish so we set up a 10 gallon tank that we had found on the street and went to the pet store. We only buy the goldfish that are on sale (3 for $3) because then if they die I can replace it no problem and he has no idea that one has died. They all look the same and do the same job as fish that cost so much more! He loves them, that is all that matters.

Saving Holiday Bird Broth - Freezing Turkey Broth
The holiday bird always left me with plenty of leftover broth. I use the dixie drink cups, little kid size, to save it in smaller batches. I fill the cups, cover and sit them on a cookie sheet in the freezer till frozen. Then I rip away the cup and put them in a big ziplock bag. I now have half cup cones to add to potatoes or noodles, etc.

Salt not only makes eggs taste better, but it makes "eggy" dishes clean easier. Sprinkle salt on dishes right after breakfast; it makes them a whiz to clean if you have to wait until later when you have time.

Saving Money on Hand Soap
I always put an elastic (hair elastics work best) on pump soaps. This allows a smaller amount of soap to be dispensed which is plenty for hand washing.

I Need a Good Multi-Grain Bread Recipe
I'm desperate for a good recipe for 1 loaf of multi-grain bread not made in a bread machine (I've worn out 3 of them and can't really afford another). I don't mind if it has 1 to 1 1/2 cups of white flour but I want to incorporate different grains and seeds. So much of what I find isn't true multi-grain or it makes more than 1 loaf (I'm the only one here that eats healthy so more than one loaf won't keep).
I hope someone can help me out.

I am looking for a free pattern to make cart covers (they also fit on highchairs in restaurants). All I have found so far are patterns you would need to purchase.
Thank you!

Editor's Note: I beleive what Kayla is referring to is something to put in a shopping cart to make it more comfortable for a baby? If that is not correct, feel free to elaborate.

Great Skincare Starts with Sunscreen
By Greg Podsakoff
There are literally thousands of various skin care treatments, possibly even hundreds of thousands. Skin care products like creams, gels, masks, and ointments that are supposed to each do something different for the skin. Some reduce wrinkles, some reduce scars, some tighten the skin, others eliminate redness, and still more help stop the aging process.
