Beauty Advice For Party With Husband?

I am a married woman of 23years. I have a medium complexion, I am a bit fat and weigh 83kilos. I have to attend to a party on December with my husband. I prefer wearing saree which doesn't show my body figure too much. I request you to kindly help me as to what type of makeup and hairstyle should I put on that day so that it would look good on me? Kindly waiting for your opinion.

Hi Bony from Kuwait!

I'm not a professional at all, but I think that putting your hair up is always a festive way! Then it's nice because you can really show off some pretty earrings.

I think I know what a saree looks like. But I don't know what shape neck line it will have. If you have a short kind of neck, a 'V' neck line is slimming. Then you can have fun with earrings too.

And if the design of your saree is not too busy, a 'V' neckline is another way of displaying a beautiful necklace, bringing attention to the bustline. I don't have much of a bustline, so I have to do what i can!!

What color is your saree?
What color is your hair?
What color are your eyes?

I have a medium complexion and am of Italian heritage and have brown eyes and (dyed) brownish red hair.

The shape of my eye is more round that almond, and I have a lot of lid to work with.

I like to use deep plum eyeshadow on my eyes, but only on the end of the eyes (away from the nose). I put the color on from the middle of my eye out towards my hairline. Then I put the color from the end of my eye (the end away from my hose) and put the color in the crease of the eye, but only half way to the nose.

I use plum colored eye pencil on the bottom of my eyes, starting from one third of the eye, out. So divide your eye in three sections. The first section from the tear duct to the beginning of the iris. The second section is from one end of the iris to the other. The third section is from the end of the iris to the end of your eye (towards your hairline).

Important - set the plum eye pencil with plum shadow so it won't run and spread all over your eyes.

I use black mascara at night for more drama. I use an eyelash conditioner to make the lashes thicker, then black mascara. When dry, I use my eyelash curler, count to twenty and release. Then I use another coat of mascara. I like drama!

On the lids, I use a soft neutral shade. Not white because if you have photos taken of you, you will look bug eyed! I have learned from bad experience!! I usually use a soft peach, or a soft beige.

Under the eyebrow, on the brow bone, I use a beige metallic shadow, just a little though.

As far as foundation is concerned, I have read that, for medium complextioned women, anything that says 'golden or gold' in the description is something I can use. So I don't pick foundation with pink in it, or one with beige in it. I look washed out if I do.

Also, I use a lighter shade of under eye concealer. Not light such as a blond might use and not a medium that would be the same color as my skin. Sometimes I have to buy light and medium and mix them up and 'experiment'.

Do you wear glasses? when I wear my glasses I use a deeper eye shadow or a little more eyeshadow. I like to moisten the applicator with a little water, just barely damp, and then put the applicator into the shadow. The water intensifies the color and is more dramatic.

For lipstick color, I think it might depend a little on your saree color. What are your best features? Personally, I think my eyes are my best feature so I play them up and keep my lips a little less color.

Not a beige lipstick, I can't wear beige lip color, but I use a color close to the color of my natural lips (I read that if you do this and your lipstick wears off a little if you eat or drink, you can't tell as much because the lipstick matches your lips. I also read that it makes your lips look plumper).

I don't wear pinks though, but if you do, I would stay away from the 'baby' light colored pinks, like for blonds.

If your saree is dark blue with metallic threads or black with metallic threads, I would wear lipcolor like a chocolate pink. That is, pink that is a little darker. I don't know if you can buy Clinque brand cosmetics, but I use a color called 'pink chocolate' and find it perfect for my coloring. They have a website, I'm sure it's probably clinque.com.

They also make a wonderful, wonderful product called 'turn around cream'. I'm telling you, the stuff is remarkable. It's a very gentle skin brightener, softly, softly exfoliating the skin. I started using it again after many years because I wanted something cheaper. In the USA it's about $35.00 for a small jar, but the jar lasts around six weeks, with applications twice a day. No luck and I wasted all those years with out it. It makes my skin all glowy in around 3 weeks. My husband notices it every time I use it, which is twice a day, right after my shower.

Is your party at night? If yes, I use a little gold eye shadow (very, very little) over the pupil of my eye. I am 51 years old and have to be careful with any kind of eye shadow! I do have some gold in my eyes and the little bit of gold shadow makes them sparkle for night.

I would give yourself a moisturizing facial one week ahead of time. Not close to the day in case you break out with blemishes.

I hope you have a wonderful time at the party! I'm sure you will be the most beautiful woman there AND that your husband will think so (that's the important part!!)

Women always look more elegant when their hair is "up." Even when it's a casual up like a pony tail. Pulling the hair away from the face if your hair is long enough is an instant beauty trick.

Wear your hair up piled on top of your head wear a dangle earrings or large silver hoops are classy take some strands down on the side of your face and use a curling iron to curl them. Wear a bright lipstick dark pink or peach colored are good and go soft on your cheeks peach or a soft pink would be pretty you can always accent your dress with an old fashioned brooch. Don't wear a lot of jewelry keep it simple paint your nails a bright red or peach color would be pretty. Wear a sarai that is one color and not patterned this tends to make woman look bigger but a solid color makes you look slimmer even in lighter colors. Dark skinned people look good in light colors hope this helps and don't be ashamed to be bigger built woman are beautiful no matter what size you are as long as you always smile and be kind thats what people will see not the size of your body. God bless and have fun at the party
