Thrifty Gift: Brown Sugar Scrub

Thrifty Gift: Brown Sugar Scrub

Thrifty Gift: Brown Sugar Scrub

I used an empty jar of mushrooms as a container for a brown sugar scrub. The scrub recipe was brown sugar, baby oil, and body soap. After mixing, I poured into the mushroom jar, hot-glued a fabric scrap from my baby's receiving blanket on the lid, and used a CD label cut in half for my hand lettered label. Cost- Less than $2.00

I used whatever body wash I had in the shower at the time! :)
I think it was dollar store Sweet Pea body wash.

Jenntaker,
Was there a particular kind of Body Wash to use? Can it be just a generic creamy body wash? I want to try this, too!

Thanks and God Bless,

I used body wash (so it has a little lather) and baby oil. I just used a guesstamate as to proportions, but I'd say 2/3 sugar to 1/3 oil and soap. When I mixed it together, it had a creamy consistancy. Hope this helps.

I'd love to know the ingredient amounts too!

This is a great idea! Can you share the recipe? I've decided to make "GIRLIE" baskets for all my nieces next year and also people in the office. This would be a great addition. Thanks!

Just noticed it says baby oil. Sorry, I mised that first time around.

I love this idea! Could you give the proportions of the ingredients? Also, what kind of oil? What kind of body soap(you mean like body wash?).

Thank you for this! My daughter in law is here visiting and I showed it to her and she launched into a dissertation about the healing and cleansing properties of brown sugar, none of which I knew. She has a salon/spa and they use brown sugar for cleansing feet.
