Getting Rid Of Underarm Odor (Bromhidrosis)

Do you have terrible underarm odor? I did! It's not all in your mind either. The medical name for it is Bromhidrosis. To my knowledge the only cure is to have your glands taken out via surgery, ooch! But I think that I found a "solution" to underarm odor.

My underarm odor combat technique is very simple and please don't think that I'm crazy, because I'm not. Even if you don't have Bromhidrosis, give it a try anyway. Just try it and let me know what you think afterwards. Steps 2-6 can also be done at work if you have a private bathroom that you can use, because that's how I made my discovery.

  1. I shave each armpit. I use hair conditioner to shave to make the hairs softer and it also saves my skin from razor burn.
  2. I then wash my underarms with Neutrogena Body Clear (you can use any type of Antibacterial soap) and pat dry.
  3. Next I take (2) Lipton Tea Bags (yes regular tea bags!) and run them under warm water for a few seconds and gently squeeze them just long enough to moisten them
  4. I then take one of the tea bags and heavily scrub my entire armpit with it. The tea will exfoliate your skin. Repeat the step under your second armpit with the tea bag.. You're going to make a mess, but trust me, it'll be worth it!
  5. Be sure to get all of the tea off of your skin with a wet cool towel so it doesn't mess up your shirt and or blouse.
  6. After you are done, gently pat your armpits dry and go on about your day!

After the above steps are done, your armpits will feel dry to the touch and I promise you that you will not "stink" for the rest of the day!

You may still sweat but I normally take a tissue and just pat the sweat dry. If you do start to smell, just repeat the above steps and I promise you that the smell will leave. Do the above steps before bedtime and you will wake up odor free! And the best thing is that you'll regain your confidence and no more "sniffing" co-workers when they pass you.

Note: Remember to only wear cotton shirts and or blouses. Stay away from polyester at all cost!

Good Luck Everyone!

I'd recommend deodorant powder but not antiperspirant. I believe Uarmsol deodorant powder is one of the best out there. I'm using it now and there's no chemicals, oil and it is unscented. The deodorant doesn't mask odour either and it works great there's no armpit odours even after I sweat from exercises.

A little wash with an alcohol pad will do the trick just fine. Several times a day wipe your shaved underarms with a disposable pad (you can buy them in the pharmacy) and you'll be fine. Simple, cheap and safe. I do it because I am allergic to deoderants.
