Wash Clothes More Efficiently With Rubber Dog Balls

This is a twist on an old tip. I went out to my mom's this past weekend to do laundry. Because my husband and I have a baby bird, we go through many poopy and hand feeding formula covered towels.

I stopped off at a Dollar General to get laundry soap and hard rubber dog throwing balls. I threw both balls into the washer with my usual full cup of detergent. That was actually too much detergent for a large load of bird towels, so the next load I only added half cup of detergent and the clothes got just as clean.

I remembered the ad for those hard rubber balls, but didn't feel like paying $20 for them, and because tennis balls are cloth covered they can spread bleeding colors.

Great idea! I'm going to pick some up tomorrow to use in my laundry! That is if I can keep the dogs from stealiing them!
